Kitchen Garden

Suffolk is known for its excellent local produce, but nothing beats the freshness of ingredients from our own kitchen garden.

David works year-round tending to the garden crops in this lovely space. By following Charles Dowding’s no-dig method, which focuses on healthy soil and minimising environmental impact and most importantly, greater flavours.

In the garden, you’ll find heirloom tomatoes, mixed salad greens, and a wide range of fresh vegetables. The harvest also includes apples, plums, cherries, and those famous British summer fruits.

By working closely with the kitchen to create menus and specials featuring fresh Suffolk produce from our garden, which we are pleased to share with you.

While we cannot grow every item ourselves, we cultivate as much as possible. We’re also proud of our ongoing relationship with Thorpeness‘ own allotments, which supply us with even more variety—including stunning cut flowers.
